Dayana was born on the 17 february 2000. She began to have convulsions when she was just 2 months old and since then she has been on constant medication. From July 2000 utill March 2006, she has lived in the hospital of Mogrobejo where the doctors diagnosed her with Lennox syndrome – Gastaut.

Today Dayana is 9 years old and lives in Ayacucho together with her parents and sister. They live in a small and rather rural home but have clean drinking water and electricity. Her father had to give up his labouring job due to chronic back pain and now works a taxi driver, while her the mum devotes her time to her daughter every day. Dayana’s problems have brought the family close together and they are doing their best to struggle with the difficulties of each day. It is important to note that the parents are trying to give their daughter the best chance in life they can, which is unfortunately not always the case here, but the medication is just too expensive.

The medication she needs is Felbatol, which controls her convulsions, allows her to walk, and gives her the ability to lead a normal life. We are looking for people who would like to sponsor Dayana so that she can get the medication she needs.

The cost of the medication is $300 a month so it will most likely take many sponsors donating a little each to be able to buy the medication. Any monthly amount, no matter how small will be welcome.
